Serving California’s Veterans & their Families

Our great state is proud to be home to approximately 2.5 million veterans. Each year, we welcome home another 30,000 veterans returning from active duty. The California Labor & Workforce Development Agency is committed to ensuring our veterans receive the benefits and service that they have so bravely earned by serving our nation.

Governor’s Troops to College Taskforce

In March 2006, Governor Schwarzenegger formed the Troops to College Taskforce to make California’s colleges and universities more military friendly. By helping our veterans and military families in attaining college degrees, California businesses may turn to them as one of the answers to our demand for a high skilled, high paid workforce. The California Department of Veterans Affairs, California Labor & Workforce Development Agency , University of California, California State University, California Community Colleges and California’s military leaders are partnering to coordinate their efforts in assisting veterans and active duty military and their families in attaining higher education opportunities and goals.
