Occupational Classification System Manual (OCSM) (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics)
The OCSM is based on the occupations reported by individuals in the decennial U.S. Census. The Census Bureau categorizes the occupations into about 500 different occupations in 13 major group categories. The Manual provides a one-paragraph job description for each occupation. The Manual also provides an alphabetical index to about 21,000 industry and 30,000 occupational titles.
